What you need to know before signing up:

We offer classes Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday in-person in Medford Oregon and remotely over Zoom. You can find our weekly schedule HERE.

Our classes are available to anyone with an interest in studying fine art with a classical method. Typically we offer to students ages 8-80. If you are wondering if your child is ready for our classes please see the "Is My Young Artist Ready for Classical Art Classes?" section of our FAQ page.
At RCA we teach representational drawing and painting. We believe that to become a good artist you need have a solid foundation of classical knowledge and technique. In the college atelier program as well as in the youth classes students begin by training their eye, learning to take accurate and precise measurements from references and from life.

Typically, students start in charcoal and graphite and work with these mediums until we start to see some mastery of value at which point we transition to pastel and/or paints.

Students in all of our classes can expect one-on-one instruction as they work on their projects. Additionally, each student moves at their own pace so we aren't ever forcing anyone to speed up or slow down to try and keep to a predetermined schedule. Classes are typically an hour and a half to two hours with 7-9 students per class.
We have online lessons in our Google Classroom which help to support and add to the things you work on in-person when you are in class. You will receive a link to join Classroom after signing up.
